Shastalink NOC² Project

The Shastalink Network Operations Center is a state-of-the-art facility which is the nerve center supporting all of the services and applications that are available on the Shastalink Network. Construction was completed on the original facility in July of 2001. Since that time numerous subsystems have undergone upgrades to support additional service requirements.

Even with these recent acomplishments, plans are already underway to increase the capacity and resiliency of the facility in anticipation of future requirements. The NOC2 project will include upgrades to the electrical capacity and distribution system , HVAC environmental equipment, fire detection and suppression and enhancements to physical security.

Upon completion of the NOC2 project the Shastalink Network Operations Center will feature:

• Environmental Control and Fire Suppression
  • N+2 redundant HVAC environmental control system
  • Temperature and humidity controlled environment
  • VESDA fire detection and FM200 inert gas suppression system
• Facility Infrastructure
  • Power capacity up to 1400 watts per square foot
  • Standby generator with 48 hour on-site fuel capacity
• Physical Security
  • Physical access controlled using biometrics
  • Operations Center monitored via CCTV
  • Escorts are required for all non-essential personnel and clients
• Network Connectivity
  • Dark fiber available via SBC Pacific Bell
  • Facility provided 100 Mbps FastEthernet or 1 Gbps Gigbit Ethernet
  • VLANs available to meet client needs
  • Cross connects are available at DS1, DS3 or OCx
  • Rooftop area to house client rooftop mounted antennas
