About Shastalink

The Shastalink service was introduced in 1996 by the Technology Resource Center (TRC) Department of the Shasta County Office of Education. From the beginning, Shastalink services have been designed to empower the students and educators of Shasta County through the use of Technology and the Internet.

Today, the Shastalink Network is operated by the Information Technology Department where Shastalink Dial-up service is just one of the services that we provide. In addition to operating the region's premier dial-up service, the Shastalink Network supports the connectivity needs of nearly all the schools, districts and students in Shasta County including data processing applications for student attendance, business functions and consulting services.

To support the continued growth of the Shastalink Network we have constructed the region's premier Network Operations Center. Using this state of the art facility we continue to provide our core services and now offer additional services that are targeted at the specific needs of our educational customers and non-profit community organizations. The Shastalink Network Operations Center currently supports more than 100 DS1, DS3 and OCx communication circuits throughout Shasta County and the State, which constitutes the largest communications network of any public or private organization north of Sacramento.

We view this time of financial uncertaintly in California as an opportunity to deliver additional value to our customers through the introduction of targeted new services and the optimization of services to meet existing commitments.

"The mission of the Information Technology Department of the Shasta County Office of Education is to demonstrate leadership by example, to advocate for, and advance customer success through the employment of individuals whose depth of knowledge, breadth of experience and personal commitment to success is unmatched."
